GREVEO Holds Strategic District Engagement Meeting

Admin April 7, 2025

Green Vision Environmental Organization (GREVEO) yesterday convened a crucial briefing session with district stakeholders at Country Annex Motel to align efforts on our “Promotion of Natural Tree Generation and Adoption of Cleaner Cooking Stoves” project.

The well-attended meeting brought together 65 participants including District Executive Committee members, civil society representatives, and key government officials. Notable attendees included Frank Mfune, Director of Planning and Development; Anastanzia Mwanguku representing the District Forest Office; and the District Council Chairperson.

During the session, GREVEO Executive Director Chrispine Mchelenje presented the project’s objectives and implementation roadmap. “This engagement marks a pivotal step in ensuring our environmental conservation work receives the necessary district-level support,” Mfune remarked. “Such collaborations are essential for achieving sustainable development outcomes.”

The District Forest Office representative emphasized the project’s alignment with national forestry priorities, while the Council Chairperson pledged local government support for the initiative’s success.

This strategic meeting follows GREVEO’s recent community briefings in Mweyeye and Jalawe, creating a comprehensive engagement framework from grassroots to district levels as the organization prepares for full project implementation.
